Wondering if it changes gears properly? New clutch in. Sitting still with motor off clutch compressed I can go through all gears easily. While driving and changing gears, I can’t move it into the next gear until the motor rpm slows down enough. Sort of like letting the gears synchronizing.

Also, what is this bolt used for? I changed the transmission oil yesterday & saw this.

How did it shift before the new clutch was installed?

Synchronizers might be worn out.

So that would require removal & taking apart?

The 3 speed also has a plug for putting gear oil into the u-joint area. It also serves to secure the rear bushing in the transmission case.

Does it change gears if you double-clutch it? Clutch it once to take it out of gear and release the clutch. Clutch it again to put it in the next gear. ????

If you have to wait for gear speed to match up, the clutch is not releasing fully. Recheck your adjustment. There should be about 3/4 inch of pedal travel before the throwout bearing contacts the pressure plate fingers.
