I have a hand lever beside the transmission that has a release handle that needs re-chromed. Is there a shop that you can recommend? I'm in MN so I would like upper midwest if possible.

There are no more local chrome plating shops left thanks to the EPA. There are a handful of good ones left scattered around the USA.

S&H Chrome Plating in Madison, TN is an excellent one.

I just had a similar handle replated for my 1936 GMC, it was $75 at Space Coast Plating in Melbourne FL. Space Coast

Trippleplate in Spokane,WA is what my dad has used for 3 different projects (2 58 Chevys & a 36 Buick 4 door hotrod).
Their work as of 7 years ago was flawless. If it wasn't, they fixed it for free. They will chrome, nickel... whatever you want (36 Buick only has nickel finish on the grill. Still looks great).

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
