COE means cab over? Does the cab actually tilt like a cab over or is there a hood involved. They are a very cool looking design.

Cab's didn't tilt on these 'ol boys. As the description states, the cabs are indeed sitting over the engine. I've owned close to 30, of these '47-'55 G.M. COE's, & can tell ya. They aren't easy to work on. I've gotten use to them myself. I love 'em. You have two floor pans, & a center engine hump to remove, for full access to the engine. They use a updraft carburetor, which actually hangs downward from the manifold. G.M. didn't have COE's that had tilting cabs until 1959, & '60. The only thing under the hood, is the radiator.

Thanks for posting the photo! That's a great looking truck. I've seen illustrations (old Chevy ads) that showed the tractor-style COEs and thought it was a good looking configuration. Thanks again!
