Hello, im new to this forum i recently just purchased a 1969 Chevy Dump Its a bigger dump, What you would say a medium to heavy. Its a Body type TK. I dont know what that means. It has a chevy 350 in it. first couple questions. are. If you could please help me.
1. Where do i find body parts for it to make look rust free.?
2. It drives awefully slow. I dont know if theres something wrong with it, or is it suppossed to sound extremly high in rpms when being driven like 30 mph seeming like its the as fast as you can go?
3. Whats the 5sp tranny is in it. ?
4. i have no gauges that work is that all in the wiring.?

Thanks if you can help me im very retarded when it comes to this truck im use to fuel inj, and going old school is making me suffer. lol

Welcome to the Stovebolt Pages. I'm moving this to the "Big Bolt" forum because that's where the big truck experts are.

2. Could be your two speed rear axle is stuck in low. You should be able to get up to 50 or so with out the engine screaming to much.
3. Check for a tag on the transmission, probably right side near the top. My guess is it is a Spicer 5 speed direct drive.
4. Gages will be mostly electronic. Check for blown fuses, a good ground for all your gages. And if that does not fix them get a service manual and follow the instructions.

I don't know what TK mean. Does it have badges with C-xx on the cowl? What size are the tires and how many lugs on the rear wheels? Does it have a 2-speed rear axle?

30 doesn't seem fast enough, but if you are used to driving things that sit low to the ground the percieved speed sitting up that high might be slower than you are really going. You might be going more like 40 or 45 thinking its only 30.

And a picture is worth 1000 words...could be that a snapshot might help some of the guys figure out just what it is that you've got.

People keep asking what I want to do when I grow up. I don't understand the question.

Sounds like a c60? As for body parts good luck. I have a 1970 C50 same as a C60 and live in the north east so there aren't any body parts in junk yards here. I've been doing a lot of welding and patching. I can tell you that rockers for a pickup can be modified to fit , you have to trim some off the front. cab corners are a direct fit. floor pans require slight modification vs pickup. The doors are the same except the front lower corner is cut off. any front sheet metal is totally different. Welcome, there is a lot of good folks here and tons of info. I could not find much info on the last of the big bolts like ours any where but here.
