Hi all,

I added a couple of paragraphs to Lurch's Gallery Forum last night and when I clicked the Change Post button, the post was republished, but the HTML coding in the post no longer works. For example, bulleted lists and urls.

You may have accidentally changed your post options. It's a drop down list you can see in the full editor. Change post options to "HTML and UBBCode"

My Post Options only has one option: HTML only. The HTML and UBBCode option is not there.

I fixed it for you (temporarily). Baldeagle may need to look at it to see why you don't have the option for HTML and UBB Code.

That's correct and it was set up that way. Because ... many of the entries were not following the Guidelines established for that forum, we had to limited the permissions. Working with a Team, we were looking for some quality posts to go along with all the images (25). This didn't work out so well and we had more problems in there than we planned for. Plus, the UBB software didn't allow us to do the *reviews* like we were hoping for. Nor were we able to move a thread to a better forum. (Gallery can only move to another Gallery ... in our case to the Daily Driver Gallery ... )

So of late, we are holding up approving an entry until we have time to check them and get some feedback to our questions to the OP. That didn't work out so well either.

So, we are putting all that effort back into the DITY Gallery. That forum has proved to be what it was set up to be, with just a little tweaking here and there. And we add some features to make them more like the legacy Gallery.

It seems that in my case, the original post was approved, thus enabling the HTML. However, when I edited it later to add a couple of paragraphs, the post reverted to needing to be approved again? That doesn't sound logical. Once approved, my opinion is that the post should remain approved, even for future edits.

The downside in only adding to your original post is that it does not show up in Active Threads. In one respect, the Gallery Forum is like a legacy Gallery story. The original story was put up on the site. If a small tid bit was sent in later, we only adjusted the story. If it was substantial, we actually did a real UPDATE with a new date. This allowed readers to follow the story of the truck. Some folks gave an update every year or so, which was great. That thinking (and the increase in the number of these updates / changes) triggered the idea of a DITY Gallery. With the DG, folks could basically update their truck stories as they were so led, and still we could follow the truck's history.

Keeping the approval-requirement, gives us a chance to again connect with the OP to see what we can work out with them and their story of the truck.
