That would narrow what rear is most likely under it now. But also, there were choices available and a fire truck might have something that was not standard in the first place.
Some truck rears were used for years and under a number of different trucks.
As Grigg said the first thing is to be sure what you need, and that starts with knowing what you have.

We take it to parades sometimes as far as 200 miles one way.This rearend should be 6:10. The truck has 7000 miles original.
