Hi! I don't have a big bolt, but figgered you guys would be the ones to ask!

I love the grills in the Task Force big bolts, like this one:

My question is:
Are these grills too big to put into a 1/2 ton '57? I keep looking at my '57, and the stock grill is nice, but I'd like to put a chromed big bolt grill into it.

I had a friend with one in a '56 ½-ton. I don't know how it was done. At the time I thought it was stock.

I also like the way those look, but not sure if it would fit on a half ton. I would think that a tape measure would answer that question. You could also make a cardboard template of the outer edge, and hold it up to the other.

Let us know how you make out.

I'll take a measurement on mine and let you know. Seems to me that the big truck grill is too long. My buddy wants to put the big truck front on a pickup and widen the rear fenders for a 4x4. I think that would look cool.

Thanks guys!

I really like the way it looks, too. I know the big 'bolts fenders have a much bigger wheel opening, but thought maybe the hood, grill, etc, might be the same.

If someone could run a tape measure over one, height and width, I could measure my stock one, see if this is feasible.

I will keep everyone informed as I go along!

I'm not certain about the 55-57's, I do know that the 58-59's are bigger. I ordered one chromed years back for my 1/2 ton and the grill that I recieved was WAY to big. I returned it and they told me it had to be from a larger truck.

the grill opening is identical on all 5-7 TF trucks, so the big bolt grille will fit the light trucks, but you're left with a number of flat spots where the regular mounting holes are that would hafta be filled

and TUT, the 58/9 big truck grill is a bit "stretched" at the park light ends because the big truck fenders have a slightly wider opening due to the bigger "bubble" for the wider tires, the 5-7 fenders only have a different wheel cutout
