1946 one owner 1-1/2 Ton
I put it on the spotting network and then decided to go look at it.
I'm buying it from the owner's wife and his son.
Ran when it was parked 20+ years ago.
Has not seen any sun or rain except when it was being used to haul grain or hay.
Has only 47000 original miles.
Passanger door shuts like new.
Driver's door is not far from that.
Tapped around the cab and it is more solid than the my "50" 2-Ton.

Motor is free and I will be taking a battery there tommorow and I dream it will start with a pony tank. Don't plan on having brakes though.

I guess I need to learn how to post pics?
I think this is a great find.

Also, the family doesn't know it yet, but I will be giving them more money than they sold it to me for.
It's the right thing to do.

The good man you are, 2T. Sounds like a keeper. Yes, you do need to learn how to post pix. If the story is food and drink, then pix are our dessert. We pig out because they're good, and they don't make us any fatter.

Update
I picked up the 46 today.
WHAT an AFAIR.
Most of the elders came out to help me get the old chevy out of the barn.
Including Mary who was married to Ralph when the Hiatte Brother's bought the truck new.

The whole family is proud of this truck, and I'm surprised that Mary and her sister sold it.

Anyway,I got the Hiatte truck home and with some cleaning of the points, battery, and distruberter we got some fire.
With a little bit of work it fired up.
Don't get me wrong, it didn't run very good for the first time in 20 plus years, BUT it ran and after the stuck lifter pumped up it sat there and idled until it ran out of gas.

Mary came out when I was about to leave and gave me a scanned picture from about 1947 with the Hiatte brothers standing in front of the truck.

This is the top of the line truck with a heater, radio and pop out windshield.

Thanks for letting me tell you about this truck and I will have some questions when I try to get the Hiatte truck on the road.

PICTURES< I love originals ,no bondo, no wannabee machanic leftover problems. It is nice to start your project with something the way the factory built it. The pictures of the original owners with truck will be many hours of talking at any show you go to.Great find. .....still tipeing with one finger butt at leest I can spel! :hammering:

I hate it when I write a whole sentence and then look at the screen only to find out that it was not putting letters there.

Yeah, same here. What's even worse is when you get a whole long post all polished up and then push the wrong button with your pinky knuckle, or something, and then it all disappears and THEN you have to try to remember what you wrote the first time and do it all again, and then.. and then.. oh, forget it.

Congrats on the truck. Love those 46's!! The picture with the original owners is priceless! When you get your pictures up, be sure and post that one, too.

Another update.
This is a breakfast update.
The powerstroke is back on somewhat solid ground.
The "46" is running under it's own power with a pony tank.And it's running GREAT!!
Filled up the brake resouvar and it did not pump up. I didn't expect too much,soo I was not Too dissapointed.

Minor hose leaks were fixed.

I will be calling the family latter today and tell them that the truck runs good.

I'm wasting daylight, time to git back outside.

Mostly valve and pump repair and special tools that are used in the plant.

Do you have a digital camera? If so, you download them onto your computer. Then go a free photo sharing website like Picasa. It's pretty easy to use. Just follow your nose, upload to their site and create an album. Then you can copy the address and paste it here for easy access.
