Would the chassis number be the same as serial number ???

Can you provide a picture of the data plate to help try and deduce what you have??? I did a bit of searching and found a picture from an old 1938 GMC sales document that seems to give a list of the offered Model #s, but "114b" wasn't one of them. Could you be mis-reading the numbers? I found model#s "T14" (1/2 Ton) and "T145" (3/4 Ton) that could relate to the "114b", but without a way to see it for ourselves, not really able to help confirm. This older thread 1938 GMC Serial # location may help you find what you are looking for. Let us know what you find out.  Dan EDIT: Wayne beat me to the posting button - LOL! Thanks for coming back and letting us know! Are you still seeking answers on the "chassis #"??? Looks like from what "dunfire" said, the "chassis #" is the same as the serial number. As mentioned, you should be able to find the stamped number "on the passenger side of the frame rail around the front spring perch". Dan
