Want to try to paint the lettering of the tailgate. Any specific kind of paint I should use? .don't want to use the lettering kit.truck has the rat rod look. .

I use rustoleum alkyd gloss and a 1.5" angled brush.

Question. If you are spraying it, how are you masking it? How do you make sure you get good sharp edges? I guess same question if you are using a brush. If you are using a brush are you free handing it or masking and coloring between the lines.
I believe the trick with spraying is to mask it, spray your base color and let it dry. Then spray your alternative color. The base color will bleed under the tape, but it won't matter because it matches the rest. That leaves no where for the alternative color to bleed to. You still need to be accurate in your taping skills.
