Good quality retreads are fine for rear axles. I 've run Bandag cold caps on drive axles and trailers of my semi's and never had a problem. Bandag will only cap perfect carcesses. Just don't trust them for steering axles. Everytime a tire sales man talks my boss into trying a new process cap we wind up sitting on the side of the road waiting for road service, fixing lights, mud flaps etc. they take out not to mention if the tire pieces hit another vehicle. The current truck I drive is a lease deal all they run on drives are recaps. blew 4 of the first 8 and 2 so far of the second 8. | | |
