I get clutch chatter in first gear sometimes when taking off, engine warm. Never in 2nd or 3rd. New clutch and pressure plate. Champ made an anti clutch chatter kit back in the day. Do any of you folks have input on this issue? The rear motor mounts have been replaced.

I always buy a rebuilt clutch and pressure plate, change the throwout bearing and the pilot bushing, and get the flywheel resurfaced. "Buy once- - - -cry once!" Jerry

You need that flywheel surface as flat as possible for the clutch disk to grab properly and/or have any longevity. The more it slips(chatters) the more hot spots will be created.

Rick I wouldn't. Look for any grease/oil and clean off of all surfaces and adjust it proper as you go back.
