Though I am not able to accurately measure the diameter of the two flywheels where the ring gear fits, they appear to be the same at that point. I'm converting my 6V to 12V and have found that the 10" pressure plate for the 12V flywheel is too large for the old 1941 bell housing and binds at two reinforcement ribs in the top side of the bell housing. | | | | | Joined: May 2015 Posts: 11,002 Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums | | Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums Joined: May 2015 Posts: 11,002 | If you have a 12V ring gear off the flywheel, you could test fit it to the 6V flywheel. It shouldn't quite fit when cold and has to be heated to be installed.
The other option is to grind those reinforcements down a bit to clear. That might be an easier option rather than messing with changing ring gears. I'd suspect that would be a 15 minute job.
