Though I am not able to accurately measure the diameter of the two flywheels where the ring gear fits, they appear to be the same at that point. It shouldn't quite fit when cold and has to be heated to be installed.
The other option is to grind those reinforcements down a bit to clear. That might be an easier option rather than messing with changing ring gears. I'd suspect that would be a 15 minute job.
