| | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 9 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 9 | I just took the gas tank out of my 53 because it was leaking. The fuel line went in to the bottom of the tank. Is this the right way to run the fuel line or should it be run to the tube that goes into the sending unit?

(Long before the days of carbon canisters and closed fuel systems!)

It is a 1.5 ton and the gas feeds from the top of the tank. Im currently in process of replacing the lines. I guess it can be hooked up either way. I would think that it would be better from the top so that it would not suck up possible crud from the bottom.
