| | | Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 68 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 68 | Hello everyone, I just put a new 235 in my 1950 Chevy 3100 and when I stabbed the R10 Borg Warner 3 Speed transmission, I cannot get it to engage the motor. I pulled it and made sure the transmission was okay and it seemed to be. I am thinking that the problem may be just the clutch pedal adjustment because I can't think of any other reason it would not engage. Has anyone else had this problem, or know what the issue may be?

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

I was told that a burr may have caught the throw-out bearing causing it to push on the pressure plate just enough to not allow the clutch plate to engage the flywheel.

My feeble mind says that a clutch is ENGAGED when you are driving down the road and NOT ENGAGED when you are stopped waiting for the light to change from red to green.
Which is it?

'52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.
