I'd like to get it as mechanically sound as I can, so I can haul firewood, gravel...etc around the farm. 66c60 It doesn't have a name, but Nellie, my three year old daughter calls it, "Dad's big old truck". I've had more fun working on it, (my wife calls it playing) in the last three months than I've had in a long time. And I've gotten alot of help and learned a great deal on The Stovebolt Pages. Thanks everyone! So far I've replaced the water pump and hoses, rebuilt the carb, new master cyl, serviced the hydrovac and vaccum system, and other stuff. I replaced the cracked exhaust manifold on the 292 ,with one I got from my bo-in-law, but it has a 2 bolt flange, and angled back 2" dia.outlet. The original is 3 bolt, straight down outlet, and 2.5" dia. I didn't notice the difference in diameter till I was going to put the exhaust system on.  I thought I'd just try to find another manifold like the original but they seem to be very rare...? I've checked ebay, salvage yards, and Stovebolt's swap, but no luck. Any advice? My next project is re-wiring. I bought a wiring harness from Hot Rod Wires, Looks like fun!! Well I got a lead on a junkyard nearby so I'm headed there to check them out. Wish me luck!! I don't know where you'd find another manifold,would headers be an option? There are several brands available now,and they show up used from time to time.

They are rare. The 250 manifold & one off a 1 ton or smaller will fit but will be very restrictve. I think headers would be a good idea. They say that splitting the manifolds on these are hard to do. They are thin.

I had VERY good service from a guy named, Peter Neuman, [email protected]  He went out of his way to make sure he had the part I needed, and I got a very good manifold, media blasted, and ready to go. Kinda expensive, but, they had what they said they had,and delivered, unlike other vendors...not to mention any names, (Mac@ Classic Auto) An update on the truck...I've got the front end off the truck, preparing to pull the motor. Mama got me an engine stand for Christmas, and I'm going to go through the motor this winter. I've been working on the brake system lately, since our weather is so warm. Doing one wheel at a time, replacing cylinders, lines, etc. I think I will rebuild or replace the hydrovac too. And saving for some tires $$$  It's been a blast working on the old truck, the best therapy a guy could get! Also I now have "Stovebolt eyes". I spot them everywhere I go, and check them out. I've got a line on a 67 1 ton...we will see. The ones you have now are the widow makers (two piece rims). If you can't find 22.5 (10) lug look for 20" three piece rims that have the outer locking ring. They are much safer and most truck tire shops will still service them.
