Newer member here, so if this isn't the right forum category apologies all around. With Christmas parades already happening this year or close to it, I wanted to see some pics of the members with their trucks in the Christmas parades and the like. Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veterans day, you name it let's see those parade pics. I do not have one of our newly acquired truck in a parade but we will after next Saturday.
No problem. Frank "scenarioL113" posted in General Truck Talk about his 1948 5-window.
Last December I needed garage space so my Stovebolt sat outside for a few weeks and we made the best of it. People would stop by that we didn't know and asked to take pictures in front of it with their children.

Here is a picture from my hometown annual Christmas parade last year. This year the parade is tomorrow evening. I will be participating again. The first pic is my truck. I could not resist also posting a picture of my granddaughter posing as Cindy Lou Who from the parade. Obviously the theme of the float was Whoville and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Our parade is tonight, so I'll post some new pictures soon. It is a big deal around here, even covered live by Austin Tx CBS affiliate 90 miles away.
Here are a few from the past. The fire department pictures were from my previous house north of Houston. Our VFD did toy collection for a nearby kid's home and delivered just before Christmas with sirens and lights. The year of the picture I got to lead the parade.
Here is a video of last year's Fredericksburg Christmas parade. My truck is at 29:45 into the video. PARADE

These are screen captures from videos taken at last night's Christmas parade in Fredericksburg Tx, so the pictures are not as clear as I'd like. Check out the DUKW (Duck) coming the other way in the 4th picture. That's my brother Jack riding shotgun and doing most of the waving.
I cranked the idle speed up to about 850 RPM and it kept the truck at the correct parade speed when in granny low.

We had our town Christmas parade yesterday and we had a ton of fun. First time in a parade for Ole Red since purchasing. A few hills and working the clutch more than I would have liked but it did fine. No overheating thankfully. two of my kids were in the back throwing out candy and such. Our youngest in her santa hat with Chriatmas treats in hand. Yes that is my other truck behind me.
Ole Red looks great. That had to be a lot of fun. Having kids in the back is a big plus!

Hometown Christmas Parade, Tuscumbia, Al. OK, third photo is not from parade but from 1971, my first truck at age 22, our oldest son at 18 months, now 52 years. Truck purchased in Tuscumbia, Al, when transfered to Glasglow, KY. took the wife, son, dog and drove the truck. Photo taken in Glasglow and only photo of it.
Papas52 That's fantastic. Operation Christmas Child has really taken off around here also. So great to see big support for that program. Matt, that tow truck is pretty sweet! Thanks for sharing guys

First picture is my granddaughter, my great nephew and my great grandson in the back of my '52 during the 2023 Christmas parade here in Fredericksburg Tx. Parade had 155 entries and the town's population more than doubled during the parade.
The second picture was after the parade was over.

Its not Ole Charlie, but I went all-out this year and decorated my work vehicle. Maybe I went a little overboard ...

No John it is very subdued and tasteful. BTW, lumbersawyer, do you repaint it for the changing holidays, red for Christmas, green for St. Patrick, and so on?

Nope. I chose red from the beginning. This truck was cape maroon originally. I thought briefly about repainting it like the original color, but my wife suggested red. So, red it is.
Peggy and I went all out this year. We called a halt to work, sent all the HQ office staff (including the shipping department, Print Crew and User Support Call Center) outside to "do it up right -- no limits!"
Here's what they came up with in the courtyard ...

Sooooo .... you might ask, "Why is there no Stovebolt in the Stovebolt Galactic Empire HQ Christmas Tableau??"
That's really a good question. I'll get back to you on that.

That is a Nice Super A! I traded my ‘50 model Super A to little Brother for a 1964 driver/project CJ5. He got a ready to work tractor with a planter with corn and pea plates, cultivators, disk blades, and hill sweeps. I got a money pit that has no respect for budgets.
Only one picture of the Green Truck at this year’s Christmas Parade and Courthouse lighting. It’s been in the Parade before, it had the SM420 transmission then, that 7.05 1st gear was nice.
