The truck is a 1953, I believe, a 6600 series - 1 1/2 ton. It has a 4 speed tranny
with a 2 speed rear and the 235 engine (6 cylinder).
i would like to replace it with the engine from a 1968 Chevy and it has a 292 Chevy truck engine (6 cylinder). It also has a 4
speed tranny with a 2 speed rear. He has a 292 into a 1954 and earlier chassis. It's not clear in the listing if this is for car or truck (and no info on size of truck, if that matters). Not that its matters to your question.
Will it work? Sure. Will it be a lot of work? Probably.
The two motors mount quite a bit differently, so you'll have to frabricate some mounts.
The 292 will not mate to your existing bellhousing and the bellhousing from the '68 will not bolt to the bellhousing crossmember in the '53.
And you'll have clutch linkage issues and things like that to deal with.
It can be done, and its probably a pretty good swap, but its not just a bolt together thing, you'll have some adapting and fabricating to do.
