Still trying to find rims locally (eastern Iowa western Illinois, Southern Wisconsin).

This truck is a 1.5 ton 1942 Chev Military 4x4, (Cloey) . I need 4, 20" 6 lug military rims.

(BTW: Don't quote me a price in this forum section or we'll get run over by the moderator like a frogs on a hot day! Just give me the contact info. Thanks)

Thank you!

I am not familiar with the terms "Budd or Motor" wheels. Educate me please.
These are 20" x 6 lug split-rim military wheels. From what I'm told, the same pattern fit on the front and the back of every mil spec 1.5 ton GMC and Chevy from this period.

Hy Dale in Iowa, Budd wheels require an inner and outer nut to retain the wheels when mounted as duals, Motor wheels require only an outer nut which has a large washer built into it, hope that helps.

Jst to throw in my $.02 worth, all of the mil-spec Chevies and Jimmies I've seen had the Budd style wheels.

In Auto-RV magazine from your areas, there is usually a couple Military sources that have the tires and wheels real cheap. Just stacks of them. Seems like one is in OHIO and maybe Michigan. Go to www.auto-rv.com and do a search for Military maybe? Also, try Traders mags in stores for bigger trucks. Google search??

Hey Dale in Iowa. Try this site www.vehiclesofvictory.com/ It's dedicated to the Cheverolets and GMC's of WWII. As an mv owner and lover myself, 1943 Ford GPW, (that's a jeep for anyone that doesn't know), we have to stick together. Also try www.g503.com/. There is a listing for the bigger trucks and someone on there may have the wheels and/or knowledge to answer any and all questions you may have.

My neighbors 70 C50 has 6 bolt 20's on it I think. I can show it to you sometime whenyou're in the area so you can measure it up. May have to buy several if they're not the same so they all match,

Dale, I have 4 or 6 of the 20" Military wheels, 6 lug, budd type, that is the type that a treaded nut screws on after the first rear wheel then the 2nd wheel lug nut screws on over that 1st stud, are you putting them on rear or fromt?? Ph. 1-918-542-3871 days or E-mail [email protected]

Any good truck salvage yard will have the wheels. There are both super single and dual types. I am in SE SD and have a pile of them. Another option is to get modern 22.5" drop center rims. If you want to keep the 20" wheels, there are some good deals in mil surplus tires out there. I just got some nearly new goodyear G177 1100R20 for $100 each.
