Your compliance will be as appreciated as it will be necessary!

If you allow ads in the various areas, people will post what they have for sale in every single forum, so you'll see the same thign for sale, everywhere.
Also, the questions and comments about trucks will be dwarfed by people selling things.
There are other forums I have visited that allow selling stuff posts and questions posts all in the same area... 90 percent of it is stuff for sale, it's nuts, ya can't wade through to find the interesting stuff.
So, the Editors of the 'Bolt, long ago decided the selling, swapping and buying would be done in a separate area.
So, when you want to sell stuff, go to the Swap Meet area.
If people are looking for stuff, they go to the swap meet area.
I've found lots of stuff for my truck over there.
Ya'll should check it out regularly.

Also, Joy does a good job moderating the who Swap Meet section. Helpful, too.
We hope having the different categories in the Swap Meet helps people find and / or git rid of stuff.

Its easy to go and look for excatly the things you need and not have to read though a 100 ones you dont. I'm embrassed to say there are places here I dont ever look at, because I'm just not in not that subject or field. Now if we could just divide the AD trucks from the other ones, it would be cooler........Come on guys just kidding..lol | | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 30 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 30 | thanks for the info- this is a great site and has been most helpful for a bonehead like me. | | | | | Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,711 Bond Villain | | Bond Villain Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,711 | Shoot, you saw how long it took to finally get a round toit to split out the "big bolts" in the Gallery ... But, how knows ... in the next ten years Peg

big bolters are sorta in a room by themselves.
personally i don't visit the swap meet much, as it seems there is hardly ever something i can use there. my truck isn't what most guys and gals have here.
my intent was to GIVE AWAY parts i cannot use to those who can to in an attempt to help them out. certainly i didn't want to profit from the parts, and lord knows i could use the money.
i don't have alot of space to keep things, and the county is quick to fine people for what they consider "junk", and i sure don't need to be paying out fines. when things sorta come my way, the person who is getting rid of it wants it gone, and i can't keep it very long, so i try to give stuff a good home asap. remember the cabover i posted a pic of awhile back? next time you see it, it will be a toyota or suburu. it had to go. the truck i was given about a month or so ago is still in the field, and i can't get it out---yet. the owner is getting alittle impatient, and the scrap man is waiting to see what i'm going to do. oh yeah, the county is on the landowners back.
so, what i did was try to help out the few folks who visit this part of the forum.
i promise i won't do it again.
the cabover brought $81.00 at the scale. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 2,890 Socket Breaker | | Socket Breaker Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 2,890 | hey koolkar... in the future, make a post in the swap meet... and just link to it from 'big bolts' then everyone can haggle and ooh and ahh over there.
maybe the moderator can lock the linking post... seems a good compromise... maybe, since this part of the 'bolt doesn't get as much traffic yet.
my .02 cents.

It would be nice to have our own swap meet section. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 477 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2001 Posts: 477 | jeeze, got a 59 1 1/2 ton offered to me today. i guess the word has gotten around the farming community that kool is into old trucks. trying to strike up a deal for a small area of a farm field. that means minimal rent, and no more give away. breaking even would be kool. so, that means there's a 50 1 ton with neato stainless trim around the windows, and a way kool bumper protector thing on it, a running 50 gmc 1 1/2 ton with the 270, and now, a running 58 1 1/2 ton with a 6 banger and big 6 hole wheels with a good grain bed on it.
i GOTS to get me someplace to store this stuff!
got an eye on a non running 50 or so gmc with a dump bed. the thing is behind a shop in indy and has been sitting for a few years. it's supposed to have a 302 in it (which koolkar wants) and the truck does have a pretty good body. the dump bed ought to bring enough to pay for the hauling, but-----TO WHERE?
gotta get this figured out, a place to store, and a way to get rid of stuff other than the scrap man. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 75 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 75 | I would love to see a swap just for big bolts. TooMany2Count & BigLou55, I've recently received email from Stovebolt which indicates that "Big Bolt Swap Meet" may be on the way. "We're an endangered species, so let's hope 4 the best". Lou, are you stilllooking for fenders? If so. I'll keep my eyes open for you.
