I have had this truck for 40 years with the idea of hot rodding it. Even had a 427 with a Rossiter blower to put in it but I never started the project.

I have 14 grandkids and could probably get one of them to do it with me. Wondering if that ship has already set sail for me. I have never seen one like mine, closest was a long box and I think this is the second truck off the assembly line seeing as the last 5 digits of the serial number is 00002.

Everything is original at this point with numbers matching but the truck hasn't run since 1971. It came from Alberta and is in Ontario Canada now. This is a Canadian built truck.

I could really use the forums help in trying to set a value to this truck and will post up some pics if I can. Thank you in advance for any help or advice you might have.

As far as value, I would need a whole lot more pix. I sold one just like it. Was a GMC and 4X4. But for now I will say it is a good one for that year. Deluxe cab. Needs to have the two year only hood. PM and do email if you want further. Don't hot rod it or mess with it

Welcome!

We also have a 60-66 forum that you may enjoy and get some feedback in there.

On the Search page (the link is also above right menu bar; and left column with the magnifying glass). If you search for your truck specifically, you may come up with some interesting info.

Happy Bolting.

Here's the Tech Tip: What's my truck worth?

You're going to sell Grandpa's truck that's out behind the barn? How could you!!??!!! Okay, these things happen ... Or maybe it's time to thin the herd and you want to move your recently completed frame-off resto. You're asking yourself ... What's my truck worth?

Welcome!
Can't help you with the value of your truck, but glad to see it's still in its original form and not a hot rod.

Thank you for the reply. I am a bit surprised about the advice to not hot rod. I really wasn't a collector so was out of the loop when it came down to features and number matching etc. Looks like it worked out for the best.

Welcome to the 'bolt. Personally, I wouldn't "hot rod" it... however, a big block chevy might slide right into that engine compartment. But, then its time to upgrade the brakes, suspension ect ect.

Another quality post.

You are all good. (I was impressed you are able to do quotes and images! thumbs_up)

Here's a link to the shops:

General Truck - Engine - Driveline - Electrical (Radio) - HiPo - Paint & Body (Doors) - Interiors - Tool Chest - Bed

For now, they are also listed to the left in the column. grin

mchaloux has been posting some in the 60-66 forum.

It'll help our *newbie* if this forum is just for welcome chat wave and Bolters can follow him in the other forums, as he "get around" a little.

If you all hang out in here too much, we'll run out of donuts!! grin

I want to welcome you too, albeit a little late.

My suggestion would be to resurrect it (not to show quality - a survivor/driver) and enjoy it for a while before doing any major changes.

I suspect you'll get more interest out of the grandkids by taking them for rides. drive

Cheers, Dean

Per Peggy’s request, we'll stop answering technical questions in the Welcome Center. The OP has figured out how to navigate the site so we'll be sure to direct his questions to the appropriate Garage Forum. Most of his technical questions are being answered in the 60-66 forum! thumbs_up

The truck has been sold complete to a local Canadian. Thank you everyone for the input. I have learned so much here. Hopefully I'll be able to post up some pics once it's done. All the best to you all.

Thanks for the update. I see you posted the "sold" announcement on all the forums you covered. Thanks for doing that, too.

Come back when you get another !!
