About a year ago, I was given my brother's 1959 pickup by my nephew. He decided he was not in a position to do anything with it and my Sister-in-law needs to sell the place it has been stored.

Long story, my brother passed away in November 2019 and now this project is mine. I will post pictures when I figure out which direction I am going with it. As it stands, it has a 455 Pontiac engine and TH400 trans (not currently installed) and a 10 bolt GM rear end. I'm weighing all the options and thinking about what I want to do with it. About me. I am a retired automotive mechanic.

Formerly with the National Park Service as a fleet mechanic. I do wish I was 20 years younger though, so I could afford to take all the time this project is going to need if I do all the work myself.

Just be sure to ask questions in the most appropiate forum and we'll do the res to help you get it on the road......also watch for other bolters from your area. They are on here. Just visit often. From another fairly recent retiree (that also wishes he was at least 20 years newer) what Phak1 (Phil) said is very true. Small bites are much easier to get done.

Thanks! The other forums I have tried have not been as ready to help as this one. I won't mention any names, but one has shifted their emphasis to Classic customs and hot rods. The other one never activated my account so I can't reply or post. Frustrating! I will take some photos and figure out how to post them on the appropriate part of the forum. There are parts of it all over the place!

I'm not trying to bash those other forums. There is a lot of good content there. So, where is the best place to post pictures of my pieces of truck?

That depends on what you want to accomplish. We have Gallery Forum where you can post pictures and tell the story of how you got your truck and what you've done with it.

We have DITY Gallery where you can post pictures and record your progress on the truck as you work on it. We have lots of forums for specified issues such as Engine, Interior, Body Shop, etc. where you can post pictures related to your questions or concerns.

There's lots of places you can post pictures.

I will have to decide which way I'm starting on the truck and get some kind of plan going. I will ask some questions about concerns I have about my frame. I will need to share pictures once I have them.
