So folks it 's a bout a week out from the Jamboree, we need to set our menu. I know that some of us are discussing breakfast at the "Buttered Biscuit" in Maggie Valley on Thursday morning and quite possibly dinner at the "Road House" that evening. Don was thinking a small grill and Hot Dogs at the show on Friday.
As for food at the pavilion for Friday and Saturday evening :
Friday: Hamburgers and Sausage dogs, Hot Dogs as well. I will supply the meat.
We will need Buns, Cheese (Archie has this handled, THANK YOU), Condiments (will bring some home made Sauerkraut), lettuce, Onion, Tomato. Chips, maybe Coleslaw or Potato Salad. Something sweet for afterwards. Drinks and Adult Beverages as desired.
Saturday: Pulled Pork with Cowboy Beans (Provided by Jerry, THANK YOU !) Grilled Chicken, again I will supply the meat.
We will need side dishes, Mac and Cheese? maybe a salad or something different. Drinks and Adult Beverage as desired.
We will also need the usual paper plates, napkins and flatware. I have a rough count of 20 to 25 people attending.
Please post anything you would like to bring or planning to add to the list.
I hope we have a great turn out and an enjoyable time for everyone.

Cookies are still a question though? Somebody said they would get chips for the show. Stovebolt awning, table and a couple chairs will also be with me.
Jerry said he was going to smoke up some pulled pork for the evening gatherings?

Yep, my smoker will be there on my trailer, and at least one pork butt, maybe two, will be cooked Friday night for the Saturday gathering at the pavilion. Sides will be cowboy beans and coleslaw. If somebody wants to acquire some buns for the BBQ, I won't complain! Jerry

Jerry, how many buns you think we need? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,826 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,826 | A 15 pound pork butt will make at least 50 sandwiches. I usually figure on a couple of restaurant size 24 bun packs per butt. Some folks prefer to simply plate a serving instead of using a bun. There are several grocery stores, including Walmart and Aldi's, southbound between the town square and the state park, on the same highway. Jerry

Down and dirty! Forecast looks like rain showers, I’ll have the Stovebolt awning, will there be anyone else with and awning? I can throw another one in the 57 if need be? Sad news for Alvin, Vicki will not be with me this year. She will be staying back here in Missouri to help her sister with some minor surgery. Cookies may still happen? But I will have to do some. I’ll just stop there,
