When I replaced the one on my 37 I went back to an original cork type gasket. The first one was a type of rubber and never sealed good.....even with the spring under the dash cut tighter. I may have to replace the cork once more in my life time but the vent presses down into the gasket and seals better.

Was pretty rotten. I used a new rubber gasket ( Steele rubber I believe ). It is a little too high / vent cover lid is slightly above surrounding metal. It does seal properly - no leaks. | | |
