The simple answer would be no. The adapter plate and the rearmost transmission appear to be for a 235 and an early Powerglide. It's questionable that the adapter could be used with any later transmission. The other transmission appears to be a later unit which possibly could be used with the proper adapter. The flywheels and clutches would be of no help for any automatic conversion. Fred

There are modern adaptors out there to go modern automatic for your '54. Check out Langdon's Stovebolt Engine Co. www.langdonsstovebolt.com, ph 586 739-9601
The way you learn the "lore" at Stovebolt is to start with a steel brush and clean the crud off the casting numbers. Record the numbers. If you have a PDA, PMD, other handheld gadget or regular computer, see if you can get a hit on the net. Also try http://www.gmpartswiki.com. Do a specific search (in quotes) here on Stovebolt or other sites. Take measurements. This is what most people do. When you get stumped, post your questions with as much information as you can provide.

I'm not selling this adapter. I just happened to have a cut-n-paste of Langdon's old web page. The price is out of date anyway. The picture is FOR REFERENCE ONLY.
Other than the original 4 speed Hydramatic or Powerglide, does anyone have an automatic on a 235 engine that they are happy with?
