Patrick from SE Washington. My wife and I have experience with 73-87s but for several years we’ve wanted an AD project, particularly a 54-55.1. We came across a 54 this past fall we just had to have. It has fantastic patina and we love it, but it was little more than a body and frame at purchase. Appearance-wise it is exactly what we were looking for. An old unmolested farm truck. It has a rock-solid body and perfect frame without even a pinhole of rust. It also has a clear title. But that's about it, everything else is toast.

We've been acquiring parts for the past few months and studying up to get our old rig back on the road. It will not be a restoration or mod, we are just going to return it to good reliable and safe running condition using generally period-correct parts. We will then put-put around town with it as we do our old square-bodies Chevys.

Here is a photo of the truck the day it came home.

Thank you to all who contribute to this site.

Hello Patrick,

Sounds like a great project with a good plan to make a reliable driver.

Welcome
