The bolts can still be bought. https://www.lawsonproducts.com/lawson/Brass-Brake-Shoe-Bolt-38-16/1450A.lpLater we switched to rivets. Brakes use a hollow shank rivet and we were accustomed to working with rivets anyway. They weren't any better, but they were much quicker. As for the drums, hold on to them. There is a good chance that you won't be able to find new ones and you will have to turn your old ones. | | | | Joined: Nov 2020 Posts: 366 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2020 Posts: 366 | Ok thanks guys! So i could just use those bolts in the link? Shoild i use any of the red or blue locktight? Also, i heard some places can actually make new replica drums if they have the originals.. in case mine are too worn, anyone heard of that?

Anyone done that? I really want to keep as much original i can. Thanks There's a process called metallizing (IIRC) that sprays molten metal on a surface to build it up. I saw a thing where Ford was "resleeving" cylinders on 7.3L diesels using the process. If it works for cylinder walls, it would surely work on brake drums. But $$$$.

We've used them a couple times for various projects. Might give them a call.

But if it would make you feel better blue or even red thread locker wouldn't hurt anything. You are probably never going to take it apart again any way. | | | | Joined: Nov 2020 Posts: 366 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2020 Posts: 366 | Thanks guys!
