Hello to all. I wanted to get some posting experience and history so I figure this is as best of a place to start as ever. I have been trolling the pages of Stovebolt for a few months, joined last week, but just came home with my next project tonight so I figure I would make a proper introduction to the new project. I just came home with the cab, hood, and front clip only to a 1961 Chevy Spartan 80. This was purchased from a guy about an hour from my home. And I am excited to bring this back to live. It's in incredible contrition with almost no rust. It's a custom model spartan which my research tells me we're pretty rare or at least hard to find now. I was told from the man I purchased it from that because it was a retired government vehicle they removed the VIN plate. I can get a new VIN from DMV, but I'm lost trying to find any original build specs on it now. Because it's just a cab I will be placing this on top of a early 2000's Kodiak Duramax chassis when I find that. I'm looking forward to the build and excited to see it come along and I hope that I can keep you all updated here as it progresses.

I am also the proud owner of a 1969 K10 that is fully restored with minor customization. I've owned this for 20 years and still feel like a kid each time I get to drive it.

Derek

It's a '60, not a '61, at least the park lamp surrounds & series emblems.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the response and welcome. Thanks for the clarification on the year. That's the value I was hoping to get from this group.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Hello and Welcome. Your '69 would be a great addition to our Gallery forum.

Good luck with your Spartan.
