The movie was "Duel" not Dual. I remember it well. I read the story before it was a movie. That was an interesting article. Thanks.

I'm glad to see that it has an owner that appreciates it's history and is taking great care of it. If only every neat old vehicle could have a caring owner.

Coincidental (like most of the events bedeviling poor Dennis Weaver in the movie) AMC broadcast "Duel" today!

Although goofy and overdone, this one had different elements of suspense and is in the same league as a Hitchcock thriller.

It is good to know that a truck from the movie is still around.

Steven Speilberg's first movie as a director. Who'd thunk?

I never liked that movie.

or... I never had sympathy for Weaver's whiny charecter and I always want the truck to run him off the road and then it has the Hollywood ending.

The truck is cool tho'. grin

I dig it.

Then again, I've seen 'convoy' waaaaay too many times when I was a kid...

Once upon a time there was a great series on TV called "Cannonball."

Two fellers drove a truck interstate and had all kinds of adventures -- sort of a "Route 66" with Todd and Buzz, but on a truck theme.

It had a neat truck, too.

Anybody remember that program?

yeah i remember cannonball. mike malone and his trusty sidekick moving freight on the 2 lane.
r model bubblenose was the star. i think it was a 520, but spanky will correct me if i'm wrong.

i even remeber the theme song.

barrelin' down the highway
wheelin' right along
hear the tires ahummin'
hummin' out a song

the rumblin' of the diesel
the shiftin' of the gears'
the rythum when their rollin' is music to their ears,

cannonball!

darn how many years have i stored that in the memory bank! (and still forget to pick up milk on the way home)

thanks for the memory glen!
