Well I sure hope I am doing this correctly. Not on any social networks so the whole idea of posting is new to me. I have read your posts for a while shopping for my truck. I looked for over two years but finally found what I wanted this past November. A 1953 Chevy with the original 216 engine and three on the tree. I did see quite a few really nice trucks that were either beyond my price point or just modified too much for me. While this truck is not 100% original it is closer than many I looked at and I can drive it now. I bought this as my retirement toy to keep me busy doing what I love to do. Not retired yet but planning for May 2023. There are a number of items I want to address on the truck and have been reading your posts and can definitely see how it will be both beneficial and fun to be a part of your forums.
I attached a few pictures of the truck below. Looking forward to reading posts and talking with y'all.

Deegs,
Welcome sir! Nice looking ride you have there! Where about in the Phila area are you? I’m located in Eastern Bucks county as well as 4 other truck enthusiasts. We often,......... well sort of, get together often.

Welcome!
That is a really nice truck you have there!
You mentioned that it's not entirely original. Just curious as to what's been modified on it. Looks pretty original from here.

You may want to consider putting your truck in the Gallery forum down below. In the heading to that section there is a link to the Gallery Posting Guide. Click on that and it will tell you everything you need to know about how to do that.

Jim,
Churchville is close to me. Thanks for replying and asking my actual location. I have been reading as much as I could access on this site for sometime now. Kept putting off joining, happy I finally took the plunge looking forward to being able to talk with others who have similar issues like me.😁

Rich,
The body is original. The truck was upgraded to a 12volt system and some of the interior is not quite accurate although it looks close. I am extreme!y happy with it though as I did not want anything that was compromised in appearance. Some of the trucks I looked at were nice and kind of cool but I did not want bucket seats and 500 watt sound system.
Fell in love with these trucks years ago when I helped a friend do a restore on a 1955 1/2ton. That was many years ago and I never lost the bug to have one some day.

Scott,
Absolutely, in fact if you work in Hatboro you are likely to see me cruising around as I have been staying close to home until I get a little more comfortable driving the truck and learning any issues it may have. Definitely need warmer weather because he is a grumpy old man in the cold and lets you know it. Looking forward to salt less roads and warmer weather.

Thanks Cameron. Never had bright yellow at the top of my color chart for a vehicle but I have to say when I saw this truck I decided yellow was not a bad choice. It really gets everyone's attention when I drive around town.

Welcome. Im actually from the other side of the state. Great looking truck. But a guy i know has a 55 and as yellow as yours. In summer time, you may notice your truck may appear moving when sitting still.... Dont worry, its just the bugs attracted to it. Literally, and alot of em.

Deegs, I'm one of the other bolters 53 green 1-ton pals around with. I'm in Yardley/Morrisville. We will reach out as soon as the salt breaks and invite you along for one of our cruises up and down the river, through the woods and anywhere else we could get in trouble.
