Hello all! First time posting here, I’ve been reading old posts on stovebolt for few years now. Love and can’t completely express how appreciative I’ve been of the plethora of knowledge within the forum! I check the swap met section and parts wanted section often, but have never been able to contact anyone, as I have never posted, finally made an account earlier this year, and now finally a post, in hopes to gain site privileges.. ðŸ™ðŸ¼
Anyhow, I purchased a ‘52 Chevy 3100 5 window (1/2 ton) from a guy on OfferUp in Aug of 2017.. it was on a poorly done Camaro clipped frame.. pretty much bought it based on the patina and how good of shape the body was in anyways, Set out and found a stock frame with a 261 on it. Cleaned and painted the frame. Got the engine running actually. Lowered the rear with 3” blocks, front end with 3” drop leaf packs, new steering components, dual master, new independent brake lines, cylinders, drums and shoes, transferred al the body over, painted all the inside of the cab and dash, wheel, etc etc.. wired it all, everything everything. I’ve picked up parts and pieces all along the way, at local swap meets, fleabay, market apps, CL.. you name it, I’ve met a ton of people! I can’t even fathom the amount of hours, or screen shots, I’ve spent and taken going thru the forums reading and researching information. I’ve almost Always found the answers here.
Thank you to everyone here past and present.. I’ve had my truck just over 4 years and it’s been on the road since Memorial Day ‘21.. here’s some pics to show you some of the journey. I’ve done some stupid stuff, hated it, loved it, taken breaks from i, and gone on benders working on it… lol! and I’ve learned a hell of a lot along the way. Cheers!
Mike

Now this is what our "hobby" is all about. In the end it will make you stand a little taller to know you did it. Congrats and keep on trucking brother.
First and foremost, welcome to the ‘bolt! I also have a ‘52 3100 and can really appreciate the amount of hours you spent on your restoration. I think I have spent as much on research than actual wrench time. This is an outstanding site for info and I too have found most of my answers here.
Your truck looks amazing! Keep up the good work and keep us informed!
