My question is this, my rod is a circular rod, and nothing more. What keeps the visor from just flopping down when not in use? Am i missing something that should go on the rod to hold the visor? Other visor rods i've seen have a one inch or so long rectangular metal piece that runs along the length of the rod, which would hold the visor in place, when fit over the top of it. I have a 50 and 60 chevy on the farm and am also wondering if those sun visor brackets and all would work in a 2nd series truck as well ? My visor stays in place due to the size of the slot that fits onto the rod. Friction keeps it in place. Works so far but it's not a high use item for me..

Look at Jim Carters sun visor section.
