I have an interior sun visor rod off a 55 2nd series truck for my 56 and am looking for the visor piece to put with it. My question is this, my rod is a circular rod, and nothing more. What keeps the visor from just flopping down when not in use? Am i missing something that should go on the rod to hold the visor? Other visor rods i've seen have a one inch or so long rectangular metal piece that runs along the length of the rod, which would hold the visor in place, when fit over the top of it. I have a 50 and 60 chevy on the farm and am also wondering if those sun visor brackets and all would work in a 2nd series truck as well ? Thanks for the help.

I have a 49 3100. My visor stays in place due to the size of the slot that fits onto the rod. Friction keeps it in place. Works so far but it's not a high use item for me..

niobrarafun I read some where (Ithink it was in Carters catalog) that you bow (curve) the rod to get more friction to hold the visor in place hope that helps. Look at Jim Carters sun visor section. Also his help guy 2to4 afternoons might help you,he helped me on a vacuum booster!!
