I was going to keep original frame but I’m starting to think if I swapped onto a 80’s frame I would get all the modern upgrades regarding steering and brakes. Just something I was kicking around in my head, I wonder if the chassis swap kits for C10’s would work?

Not sure about the specifics but from what I understand, it may be easier in the long run to modify your existing chassis with the upgrades than to swap the cab and front clip onto a modern (ish) chassis -- lots of fab work to do that and have everything fit and work correctly. You *would* get a much beefier drivetrain, suspension and chassis with the CUCV, though ...

I bought one of their kits to swap my 1956 3800 sheet metal onto a 1979 c30 chassis.
