How easily can power steering be added to one of these old trucks. Ive got a 48 4400 with a 235 and a 5 speed. im gonna drive it quite often when i get it finished so power steering would be nice. thanks chris grin

I've done it to one of my '48 4400's, but it has a 350 (which easily mounts the pump) and a mid 70's tilt steering column. I just mounted a 3/4 ton 4X4 steering box to the frame ahead of the axle, made a pitman arm and steering shaft. Connected the hoses and there you have P/S. It sounds easy but there was alot of fabrication work involved and I did it with the front clip off for easier trial fitting of parts. I've never adapted P/S to an inline before, but I've seen it discussed here before. I think an aftermarket company makes a pump mounting bracket, but I don't know who. In my opinion, P/S makes all the difference in the world, especially in the big trucks that haul real loads.
Good luck,
Scott
