34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
my 62' also has the same holes plus a few that go around the rear window. I also am mystified by them. sun visor is a great guess, maybe a gun rack but i would think you may need more holes than that.
62' GMC Fleetside 3/4 ton 235 4-speed. Time makes fools of us all.
I thought gun rack myself but the holes are so small I don't think It would hold very much. The holes are not threaded if that helps. so I think it's the aftermarket ( installed by owner) & not Factory

If you installed three point seat belts, you’ll recognize the bigger center hole. The pop rivet gives it away! There is a threaded backing plate that is being held in place with that pop rivet until the seat belt in bolted in place.
I have no idea what the other two holes are for. Probably made before the seatbelts were installed.
EDIT: I like DES57’s guess, fire extinguisher mount, prior to the seatbelts!

Thought I'd add an ending to my original post. I just got done painting the interior back to the original color for a 59 "Comanche Gold" . Purchased the paint from Jim Carters. A quart was enough to paint the entire interior, doors & all, but I almost ran out. Thanks again for everyone's input. I get so much help on stovebolt forums, I love it!
