I’d like to restore my gauge cluster. The inside of the housing is painted a cream or ivory color which may have discolored over time. Does anyone know a brand and color to use that would be close to the original? Also, I always like to stay as original as possible, so since the gauge faces still look pretty good I won’t be applying stickers or a new trim ring. Thanks!

When I did mine I just painted the inside gloss white Rustoleum. Once its fully assembled little if any of the inside is visible anyway. John

I used similar to above product, I went with Rustoleum white appliance enamel, it stays bright and wears like iron.

I just checked my '51 and the only way you can see the white paint in the truck is from a severe angle, almost parallel to the dash, using a flashlight. It is covered by the insert with the gauge type lettering. The purpose is to reflect as much light as possible onto the gauge faces. My gauge cluster is original and looks slightly off white, more like ivory (like yours), but the above suggestions are excellent.

Thanks guys. I didn’t think that there would be too much of that white to see once the gauges and chrome trim ring are installed. I’ll pick up some of that appliance white and paint it with that.
