Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 27 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 27 | On the later Big Bolts are the doors, hood, etc etc the same as the 1/2 to 1 ton body parts? Or are the cabs of these bigger vehicles actually bigger?
Thanks.

And I'll bet you have figured out that the front clip is not the same, other then the hood. If you had an LCF like my truck, then the hood would not be the same., but the doors are only with the front lower conrer cut off, the Green Door seen here came from a 1962 GMC 1/2 ton, I just cut off that corner and bolted it on. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 687 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 687 | PsRumors, Since you're in Cartersville, check out Alsobrook's Garage in Hiram. He has a 62 big truck out there with a 261 engine in it. Well, he HAD one - I haven't been out there in a year or so. He has lots of "Big Bolts" out there. 261s, 292s and 302s out the ying-yang! George (the owner) is generally a nice old guy but just not the most personable person in the world. Hiram is only about a 45 minute drive from you and Alsobrooks is on SR 92 (the road you must take to get there anyways). Let me know if you need exact directions. They close at noon on Saturdays. -ftyler | | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 27 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 27 | Thanks for the replies.

I am a member of your site (6500 GMC dump truck with 351 V6). I don't quite fit here as my truck is a 73, but at least the transplanted 351 is pre 73. Anyway I figure I can listen and learn here. I can tell ya that it's on the left going south on Hwy 92 about halfway between Hiram and Douglasville. Lots of "big bolts" everywhere. And it's the only salvage yard on the left south of Hiram on Hwy 92. Hope this helps. -ftyler | | |
