Here is my "new" 1954 4400. I bought it from my daddy, he is selling off all of his pasture relics and I just couldn't let this one get away. It was running four years ago when he parked it. I'm going to get her cranked up and moved to my house during Christmas break and start working on making her even more beautiful.

Looks like a great catch. That picture should have been in the IRWIPI contest.

I disagree that ones in far to good shape for IRWIPI contest. It looks to be in fair condition other than surface rust.

Heya Georgia Boy.

Neat truck.

Yer picture link almost worked... you linked to your webpage document:

http://www.fevertreepress.com/54ex.html

Instead of the address of the actual image:

http://www.fevertreepress.com/images/54chevy.jpg

So, you would take the above URL, which show the location of the image... then click on the IMAGE button here on the 'Bolt where you type out a message. Paste this URL: http://www.fevertreepress.com/images/54chevy.jpg

into the box, then hit 'ok'.

Then once you 'post' the picture should show up in your post, as long as you do not move, delete or rename the image from that location. smile You can 'edit' your post at any time of course... and hit 'preview' to make sure things are right before 'posting'.

I agree, way to nice for IRWIPI. I like to see those entries when they are sinking into the ground or have a tree growing up through them.

Good catch. Keep us posted with pics.

I wish my truck had a nice rust patina like that! Are you going to drive it like that or are you going to cover it up with a fresh coat? I love the natural look.

I'm going to little by little replace the body seals and rubber, clean up the interior, but leave the outside as is for the time being and use her for runs to the lumber yard. Someday, maybe when I retire, I will restore the sheet metal and give her a new coat of paint. Right now I just need her as a work truck. All my friends seem to like the aged patina also. This truck has rust holes only in the bottom, back corner of the cab and that is because one of the windows was cracked and rain blew in.
