Hello,

Just a quick note to say thanks for the add, and to introduce myself. I'm Richard. My wife and I live just South of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

We are the new owners of a mostly rough running early production 1942 "BM" 3/4-ton pickup. This isn't our first "old" car, but the earliest we've owned, and our first pre-war antique. The vehicle is from Southern California. It's in good condition and mostly stock. However, during its 79 years the engine and transmission were replaced with an early 350/350 package, and power brakes were added to assist the original drum brake setup.

We want to make this a regular driver. And because it is no longer stock, we intend to put a fresh engine and transmission in it. It also gets a heater, A/C, power steering and possibly front disks. When I'm allowed, I'll get some pictures up.

Again, thanks for the add!

Welcome to the Stovebolt, Richard. Your now one of the Southern Bolters!! Been to Myrtle Beach many time and father in law lived in Shallotte, just above N. Myrtle. We have a few bolters from right there in your area.......One is named "fixit" so if you check the members list maybe send him a invite and meet up with him. I'm hoping to be at the next big show down your way if at all possible.

this is THE place for old Chevy trucks so consider yourself at home....AND if your ever in Spartanburg give me a shout before you leave and I'll treat you to some hot dogs and cold Pepsi.....or maybe some BBQ.

See you around the garage forums....don't be bashful and visit often. Great bunch of guys and gals hand gout here.
