Ever since I sold my Freightliner Cabover, I had been looking for a Heavy Duty Wrecker, to haul my Vintage GMC COE, Holmes Wrecker to Antique Truck Shows, up, and down the Highways. I looked hard for a GMC, or even a Heavy Duty Chevrolet, to no avail. I did however find this 79 Ford L9000, Holmes Wrecker, for a very good price. Couldn't pass it up. Oh yeah, it does have a 8V71 Detroit Diesel, so that's a fraction of GM for it. Lol

I know man, Lol I should have just opened the hood to expose the Detroit, and kept the front end out of the picture.

I wouldn't worry to much about it Spanky.
At least it was built when trucks were TRUCKS!
And as you say Detroit 8V71(318)
I put many a mile behind the Detroit 318 and the 238(671)

Just pulled this olé girl out of retirement for a facelift
8V71 13 speed Holmes 750

Nice Ford btw

How about a picture of your GMC pulling your Ferd? grin

Jokes aside, looks like it's in good shape.

John opened the gates when he posted questions about his Ford Guigley van.
We do need to be more diverse!

Back on topic. That looks like a nice ride Spanky.
Looking forward to seeing your setup!
Check out the chatter on the Southern Bolter’s threads. Something is brewing.

Don, John followed his own rules and posted those questions in the Spoon. There are plenty of sites out there for those who want diversity! nanner

Spanky,
Here's a couple of the GMC you wanted.
When I get time I will get some of the chassis.
