I'm not sure what clutch issues you might encounter, except to not some of those years Chevy used a hydraulic clutch.
The bell housing used on sixes starting in '63 and through the same year ('67?) will also work with the same clutch caveat.
The crossmember has those angled mounts starting in '54 and does make this swap easier.
