Hi everyone new member here from southeast IA. Just recently purchased a 50 Chevy 6400 and was looking for information when I found this site. I have a radiator found since the original was missing and when I get it home and installed I will see if I can get it running. I was running casting numbers on the block and it is from a 56 so it will have full oil pressure system. The only rust is a small hole in each cab corner. Looking forward to all the information on this site.
Welcome to the 'bolt. It looks like you have a solid start! If you haven't gone through the process of starting an engine after it has sat for a while, you might want to search for some procedures (maybe in the engine forum).

Thanks guys. I've had 3 different pickups over the years and always wanted a truck when I ran across this one. It was headed for the scrap yard in a few days when I found her so couldn't leave her sitting there.

Bruce C Nice save that looks like a timing gears bombed failure. Long ago I worked with a machine shop foreman who once ran a garage on a busy hiway people would come in with chevy car trouble. He learned to ask if the windshield wipers flew-up when it quit... if so ,timing gears are gone !!
