I had to get a new cap and pressure built up and fuel started pushing out through the sending unit on the tank lol!

Most current caps have a flat spot on them for whatever warning sticker is required.This means they do not look like the original cap. Some restoration vendors might have a domed cap. Or watch eBay.

Unfortunately I think you will find that the new vented gas caps do not vent properly, I ran into that issue and believe the springs on the check valves are to strong. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 1,299 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 1,299 | My experience after losing my original was that the aftermarket had a slightly different contour in that they had a flat face vs. the rounded face or they fit too tight to whatever.
