Thoughts?

'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

You would think that greasy shoes wouldn't grab, but they definitely do.

So I have a new to me 1949 1 Ton Chevy Truck! She was shipped down from Salt Lake City, 3 weeks ago. I took her out for a short drive and I think that the back passenger brake locked up as I was pulling out of a drive. I was able to put her in reverse and park her out of harms way. With her in reverse it released the brake. I was able to make it home safely. So what’s a girl got to do? Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 2,168 | On a one ton’s rear, on either side where the brake line enters the wheel cylinder on the backing plate, there are 2 hex heads. These run through the backing plate and are used to turn the toothed adjuster for the shoes on the inside. The brake fluid contaminates the brake shoes and makes them grab.
