In order to avoid the space issues conventional wisdom has said I should use block huggers. IF so what block huggers. As a teenager we all wanted Hedman Hedders but what about today? Is there something better? My main concern is 1) a good fit with no leaks and 2) to dodge the steering column and 3) ceramic or some other material that resists corruption. Any good ideas.

Summit has a notation that a set (# SUM-G6090) it sells won't, says "must use front motor mounts". Learned the hard way.

I went with the Hedman shorty swept back style for my V8 application in the 54. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 363 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 363 | I like sanderson cast irons | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 232 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 232 | Thats true about needing shorty plugs. Had to use Accel plugs so the boots wouldnt ride on the pipes. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 119 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 119 | Block huggers also choke off some of your bottom end power and torque. If you're looking for that tire chirp from first to second, find a way to shoehorn full length headers in there. I've heard tell that early Camaro headers work in TF trucks with little or no mods. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 151 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 151 | I'm using the Sumitt brand block huggers, had then coated and using the shorty plugs also. Got plenty of clearance, no motor mount issues either on my 350 in a '46 Panel
