Thanks for the add!! I recently got my hands on a '52 5window. We "found" it inside one of my dad's barns back home in Texas. He did not want it to go to waste, so he gave it to me and my son. Can't wait to get back home in the spring and bring it down for us to get it running again. I have already seen tons of info on here about the truck. My son has been "snooping" around as well. smile It was running in the early 90s so I hope it doesn't take a whole lot to get it back on the road. My son wants to learn how to drive the "three on the tree" instead of an automatic. We will see!! The truck has been covered in burlap sacks and saddles since about 89-90. Dad she was running great the last time he drove it. Was rough restoring it when he got hurt on the job, never got back to it. Kinda like his '31 Ford. Some surface rust here and there. Not sure about the hood. Tires need replacing of course. Will probably replace basic electrical components if necessary. My son wants it running by his senior year in high school. Gives me another year to get everything going. My only decision is whether or not to do a full restore or wait. Truck even comes with its own custom bullet holes. Not so LOL.

Welcome to the 'bolt. It's nice to keep old vehicles in the family, and even nicer when there is a father son project.

You will get plenty of advice here. If it was my truck, I would ensure that it runs, drives and stops safely before starting to tear it apart to "restore" it. Drive it around some, let your son learn to drive it... you might never get around to restoring it!!

Another quality post.

Welcome ToddE - you've got a great father and son project there! I'm sure you will have many memorable times working on the truck together, no matter what you finally decide to do with it. My '51-3100 5-window is also a father and son project and we spend many quality hours together. Enjoy your adventure!

Welcome ToddE, This is the place for you. These folks are great and have all the info you will need. The point of this site that I like so much is if they don't know the answer right away they will get it. The days are gone when one can find a barn find in this part of Florida. So nice to know you got one. Have a great time, it will last a life time. Doc. P.S. follow the insrtuctions the Stovebolt has for pulling the spark plugs and using the right mix of oils and solvents to not damage engine prior to turning over.

Glad to see another Florida 'bolter. Also good to have your son involved. It takes the next generation to keep these old trucks on the road.

Howdy Neighbor (well next State anyway). As others have said get it running and driving, you can always make up your mind to restore it later. I would bet that just getting home from Texas will be an adventure for you and your Son. Welcome to the BOLT.
