I need a clutch in my 1946 Chevy truck but I’m not sure if it’s a two ton or ton and a half. How can I tell, and do they use the same clutch? Thanks in advance for any info.
Hy Dennis67, welcome, judging by your picture your truck is a two ton, bolt on front hub cab. One and one half tons have an eight sided screw in front hub cap. hope that helps
Thanks. I have owned these trucks for years, and always wondered about the ‘46. The clutch is weak in it, and I’m thinking it’s worth putting a clutch into it.
Have you changed the clutch? You won't know the clutch size until you pull it. Original was 10 3/4. I replaced mine with 11" also changing the flywheel. 11" kits are easy to come by.
