I thought 1946 GMC tailights were the same as Chevy. If so, they are not round (as you state). Perhaps you have the correct brackets but the wrong lights?

fyi, the reproduction tail lamps are so poorly made that you can't easily fit reproduction bezels onto original housings
they look close, but mix and match repo and original is tricky, the gaskets are a joke, the bottom "LENS-LICENSE" is plastic not glass

and the chrome flakes off like glitter
the pair i purchased when into the metal trash pile

If it doesn't say 'triple chrome plated' it will flake off right away, Mexico for sure. It is too bad LMF tries to foist off junk on us.

From what I understand GMC used a different round tail light. I bought the repo bracket from Carter but am looking for a light. A guy has one on ebay but he is an a$$. I'll find one somewhere and hope it fits.

I finally picked up two correct GMC tail lights. They are Guide R 13's. The are one of the differences between GMC and Chevy.

Hi Jeff. Those R13’s are big buck lights, aren’t they?! I have been on the hunt for the GMC 41-46 brackets too. I ended up buying the 1934-1936 brackets from Jim Carter and will use those until someday on the off-chance the 41-46 brackets ever show. Not sure what’s up with The JC website these days - it’s painfully slow when trying to access pics and articles. Otherwise I would post a link here. Tom
